| Being a sussex wedding photographer is a great privilege and responsibility. Your wedding day is the greatest celebration and expression of your love for one another, and it is my goal to document and preserve all the special moments and memories that may otherwise pass you by! My style of wedding photography in sussex is photo-journalistic, a contemporary fusion of traditional and reportage coverage. This allows creative freedom to capture the events of your day as they unfold, providing artistically posed shots of the bride & groom in a modern style, interspersed with more candid type shots. Your wedding day is just that, yours and this is respected at all times, ensuring your wedding photography is captured in an unobtrusive fashion. Choosing from the many wedding photographers in sussex is of course an important decision, you must be comfortable and relaxed in their presence, as well as being confident that their particular style of wedding photography matches your own expectations. |

If you are planning a wedding during the summer months or over a popular holiday period, or any other popular date (think Royal Weddings!) then you may want to consider booking your photographer well ahead of time, perhaps12-18 months in advance.
If photography is especially important to you, this could also prompt you to book early to avoid any disappointment.
In any event, my personal recommendation would be about 8-10 months ahead of time if possible.
If having looked at my imagery and package details you believe I may be the right photographer for you, then please don't hesitate to call on 01444 455354 or 07956 699624 to check my availability and to arrange an initial consultation. Our first meeting places absolutely no obligation on yourselves, but is an opportunity for you both to view further samples of my work, to meet me in person and to further discuss your wedding day photography.
It is best to meet with me at my studio/home where I have access to all sample photography and can easily show you the cameras and associated equipment currently used. And I make a great cup of tea.
No, not essential, but certainly sensible!
Whoever you ultimately chose to photograph your wedding will be spending a fair amount of time with you on the day, as well as your family and friends, and you should feel comfortable with their presence and be confident that they are friendly and professional. Any good photographer should endorse the good sense in meeting in person.
Yes. I have professional indemnity and public liability insurance policies. Any photographer offering a professional service should have these in place and you should exercise caution if considering hiring a 'professional' that does not have adequate insurance.
I use Nikon Digital SLR camera bodies (current main camera body being the D700) and professional grade lenses. Whilst I admire the quality Nikon and their peers are able to pack into the kit lenses sold with consumer level DSLR's these days, they simply cannot compare to the quality produced by professional level, reassuringly expensive glass!
I always ensure appropriate backup equipment is with me at all weddings, camera bodies and lenses, to mitigate the risk of hardware failure or damage.
Typically yes. For weddings with fewer than average numbers of guests I may opt to work alone, but as a rule of thumb my valued and trusted assistant will be in attendance from the point of arrival of guests at the ceremony venue through to the completion of the speeches and cutting of the cake. During the Brides preparations earlier in the day and the first dance etc. towards the end of the day, it is more practical for me to work alone.
Not as strange a question as it seems! Some wedding photography companies do employ the services of associates and although this approach may be slightly less expensive you should be sure that you are speaking to the actual photographer who will be shooting your wedding.
The relationship between the bride and groom and their wedding photographer is a key element and it is vitally important you meet the photographer who will be with you on the day. I do not employ associates and the work you see on my website is mine.
The final images will usually be ready and uploaded to your password protected area of my website within 10-14 days, although this may take slightly longer during very busy periods. Your complete set of prints will also be ready around this time. Once received back from the processing lab, and depending upon your home location, I like to personally deliver these and your DVD asap.
I retian all images indefinitely. All photographs are stored on RAID mirrored disks as a precaution. If you loose or damage your own DVD of images a duplicate can be arranged, though I would certainly recommend creating your own copies also for complete peace of mind.
Lee made our wedding photography so easy and enjoyable. We hardly knew he was there and our photos are absolutely amazing. Feedback from our guests has been wonderful and a few friends are already keen to book Lee for their weddings. Lee met us before both at home to talk and at our venue to get some ideas, he is also meeting us to hand over our pictures in person. From other weddings that I have been too I can safely say that Lee himself and his work far exceeds that of any other wedding photographer that I have seen."
We booked Lee to do our wedding photos over a year in advance and he was fantastic. Before the day we met to discuss photo ideas at the venue which was really helpful. On the day he was brillant, very laid back and we hardly noticed he was there taking pictures. We were amazed how late he stayed in the evening, which made all the difference as we have some fantastic pictures of people dancing! We received our photos very quickly and are so so pleased with them. They are just what we wanted, very relaxed and really showing how lovely the day was. I would thoroughly recommend Lee.
We wanted to say thank you very much to you Lee for our beautiful wedding photos. Your calm, quiet manner made two people who are usually more comfortable behind the camera feel very at ease in front of it. The photos of us in the orchard are lovely and everyone has said how naturally you have captured everyone throughout the day – including some unwilling bridesmaids! Our photos are a perfect reflection of our perfect day and we really do appreciate all yours and Eric's hard work on the day – you arrived with us at 9.00 on the morning of the wedding and were still smiling at 8.30 that evening which is quite a talent in itself. Thanks again for the wonderful photos and everything you did for us on the day.
We went to see a few photographers before our wedding and from the first time we met Lee and discussed the way he approached wedding photography we knew he was going to be good. We met him twice before the day - once at his studio and once at the venue the week before to go through some ideas. It makes a big difference to discuss different shots the week before and have an idea of where certain photos will be taken instead of figuring it all out on the day, after all who wants to be standing around for hours on the day while the shots are composed. On the day, Lee was fantastic – really relaxed, laid back and unobtrusive which is exactly what we wanted. He also had an assistant, Eric, so we have pictures of both the bride getting ready and guests arriving at the church which is lovely to have. We only went on a 10 day honeymoon but he got the pictures to us for our return and then came around in person to deliver the DVD of our prints. We could not be more pleased with the photos – some fantastic atmospheric ones which sum up the day and loads of unposed, natural photos which we love. Thank you Lee!
Right from the start Lee made us feel assured that we would get the photos that we wanted from our wedding day. We had two meetings with him before the wedding day, once at his studio and once at the venue to go through some ideas and the running order of the day. Apart from being very technically accomplished Lee has a way of relaxing and calming what could have been a stressful day. It felt like he was another friend that we had invited to the wedding and all of the guests that we have spoken to since the day have commented on how good he was. As soon as we came back from our honeymoon the prints and disc were ready and Lee dropped them round to us in person. All in all we think you get the whole package when you hire Lee, a dedicated professional photographer with a very personal touch. We will definitely be recommending him to our other friends who are planning weddings.
Lee was our wedding photographer and we couldn't rate his services highly enough. He was so easy to have around, nothing seemed too much trouble and we're over the moon with the pictures. All in all, he couldn't have done more and we'd thoroughly recommend him!
Just received our wedding photos, taken by Lee, and they're perfect. A good mix of formal and reportage shots have provided us with some beautiful memories of our wonderful day. It was a long day but Lee ensured he was there at each stage so that every moment was captured. Great person, great photos - couldn't have asked for more.
Lee was our wedding photographer and all I can say is that our pictures are wonderful, they captured the whole day beautifully. We could not be happier and all our guests loved and still love looking through our album. Thanks Lee for all your time, patience and good humour on the big day and all the memories you captured.
We are going through the complete set of photos taken by Lee for our wedding album. The problem we have is that they are all truly amazing and it is hard to choose our favourites. Lee made us feel really relaxed which shows in our photos. Thank you Lee, for capturing our special day.
